My Healing Journey

hola, I’m alycia!

I’ve been a holistic wellness coach and menstrual cycle educator since 2019, but my journey here began long before that.

Growing up in musical theatre and singing in the chorus, I learned how to use my voice on stage, but off stage, it was a different story. I was the shy, quiet kid who grew into the people-pleaser, afraid to speak my truth, set boundaries, or let others know when they’d hurt me.

Along with this, I carried a load of health struggles. Born with a weak immune system, I battled asthma, digestive issues, and frequent illness throughout childhood. By my teens, I was also facing painful periods, heavy bleeding, depression, and constant fatigue. Daily life felt like an uphill battle, and I knew I couldn’t keep living this way.

After many failed doctor’s visits that led to no answers, I turned to fitness, shifted my diet, and explored yoga, meditation, and mindfulness. Coming off hormonal birth control and experiencing its side effects opened my eyes even further; it made me start questioning the medical systems that had always told me I was “fine.”e.”

Embracing every phase, every moment, every cycle

I spent a lot of my life hating my body, resenting being a woman, and not understanding what my purpose here was.

In my early 20s, I worked in the fitness industry, supporting clients who often felt disconnected from themselves. Witnessing their struggles mirrored something in me, and it made me realize that I was supposed to work with people on a deeper level.

I enrolled at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, where I trained as a health coach and discovered how to nourish my hormones and my health from the inside out. Along the way, I found balance within my own body, finally easing the painful, heavy periods that had weighed me down for a lot of my life.

I devoted myself to learning how to listen to my body, connect with my womb, and gently untangle the emotional pain I had been holding. That process became a coming home to myself, one that still shapes the work I share today.

I ended up reclaiming the power of my female physiology and learning from the wisdom of my menstrual cycle.

Through herbs, nutrition, movement, meditation, prayer, and other mindfulness practices, I was able to heal the dysmenorrhea, heavy bleeding, and chronic fatigue that had weighed me down for years. What truly transformed my journey, though, was learning to build a relationship with my womb and my voice, reconnecting with the ways of my Indigenous ancestors, and learning how to support my menstrual health. In that reconnection, I began to hear the voice of Creator more clearly and discovered the wisdom my body had been carrying all along.

Today I am a menstrual health educator, a womb wellness coach, an event facilitator, and an interdisciplinary artist!

    Before working together, I had been experiencing irregular periods with a pain level 9 and excessive bleeding throughout my cycle. Alycia was able to gently and clearly break down possible root causes to my issues and create a system to address each of my concerns. 

    Our sessions were filled with valuable information held in a safe container for me to ask questions and reflect on how this process of transformation was affecting me on many levels. Some lifestyle changes she recommended were increasing my protein and fiber intake, adjusting my caffeine consumption, implementing specific supplements & vitamins, deeply listening & communicating to my womb, adding movement that supports & opens my hips and understanding the importance of sharing this journey with my partner. 

    Overtime, I began to feel naturally energized during my bleed and most importantly pain free! Through our work together, I gained a new sense of empowerment, sovereignty over my health and awareness of my menstrual cycle. With this, I was able to track my phases which led me to fulfill a dream of becoming pregnant and self advocating with health providers.

    I highly recommend Alycia’s mentorship to all my female friends & family and to women in need of understanding their menstrual cycle. Her wisdom is golden and she is a true embodiment of a divine feminine guiding others to a healthier way of being.

  • "Prior to working with Alycia, I would experience extreme pain and discomfort leading up to and during my menstrual cycles."

    Symptoms of heavy bleeding, nausea, vomiting, extreme fatigue, severe abdominal and back cramps only worsened within the recent years, impairing my ability to complete my daily tasks and responsibilities. Alycia began our coaching with a very thorough intake form that would help pinpoint what exactly we needed to tackle in order for me to experience healthier menstrual cycles. From the beginning of our coaching Alycia created an environment that felt safe, and supportive, which only grew stronger as we continued our sessions.

    Together we addressed my diet intake, Alycia recommended foods, herbal teas and supplements that would help regulate and eliminate my symptoms of nausea, vomiting, fatigue and cramps. During our sessions Alycia guided breathwork, movement, and meditation that truly affirmed our sacred and safe environment throughout our coaching together.

    Moving forward after working with Alycia for 3 months, the pain and discomfort I experience before and during my cycles are minimal and tolerable. I feel functional now, healthier, and empowered when facing my menstrual cycles. It was an honor working one on one with Alycia, she truly passes down her torch of knowledge and practices in order for you to have the tools to aid your menstrual cycles for a lifetime

  • My purpose with coaching isn’t to have you think like me, share 100% of my perspectives, or have the same exact practice as me. My goal is to help you awaken to your own inner expression and medicine. Your transformation is unique to you, I am here as your guide.

  • I am clear on my scope of practice and if at any point I feel that I can’t help you, I will let you know and most likely refer you out. I will never claim to do something I can’t or promise something I won’t be able to follow through with.

  • Indigenous people protect up to 80% of the Earth’s biodiversity. Indigenous wisdom is something we can all learn from because of their ability to coexist with the planet, live in community, and receive the teachings from the Creator. We carry our ancestors within our DNA, we are them.
